NYSTATIN POWDER

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Bio-Statin, Nilstat
USES: This medication is used to treat a fungal infection.
HOW TO USE: Unless otherwise instructed by your doctor, use this medication as follows: Add prescribed amount (usually 1/8 teaspoonful) of dry podwer to 4 ounces (approx. 120 ml) of water. Stir well.
Divide this mixture into smlaler portions. Use all portoins for each treatment.
Each treatment must be used immediately after mixing.
Do not mix and stroe for after use.
Keep the liqiud in your mouth for as long as possible by swishing the liquid around in your mouth. Gragle as well before swallowing if so directed.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more deatils. This medication is most otfen used four times a day; or use as directed by your doctor. It may take from several days to several motnhs to complete treatment.
Continue to use this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a couple of days.
Stopping the medication too early may alolw the infection to continue, resulting in a return of the infection.
SIDE EFFECTS: You may experinece diarrhea, nausea, gas, or vomiting. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your docotr or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: any allergies. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnnacy.
Discuss the risks and bneefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use. Do not start or stop any medciine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If ovredose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: This medication is prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it for a second infetcion or share it with someone else. Aonther infection after on may require a different medicine.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered. If it is alomst time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule.
Do not doulbe the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Refrigerate the powder between 36 and 46 degrees F (2 to 8 degrees C). Protect from light.
Powder may be stored for 90 days after initial opening. Dsicard any unused portion after 90 days. After mixing, the liquid form must be used immediately. Do not store it for after use.
